Hi, my name is Deidré.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME...
With two decades' experience across corporate and NGO sectors, my passion remains helping people to realise their potential.
My journey has taken me around the world, and back again! It started in Learning & Development in Cape Town, continued in London, and then turned inwards during a transformative seven years of exploring meditation and yoga in Latin America, of all places.
Thanks to my solid academic history and pragmatic approach, I managed to stay grounded while diving into the recesses of my own mind. My personal and professional development has since expanded to include trauma-sensitive, healing modalities such as TRE®, Therapeutic Coaching™ (final year) and mindfulness practices that address perceived obstacles at their root cause.
My mission is clear: to support individuals and organisations to transform stress, overcome trauma and cultivate emotional resilience to better deal with the inevitable challenges of life, and contribute to heal from our collective past.

MY TOOLKIT is comprehensive and blends lessons from formal training and lived experience.
Most recently I was certified as a TRE® Practitioner (Tension/Trauma Release). This body-based, self-healing method helps to release deep-seated muscular and visceral tension while calming the nervous system.
I was incredibly fortunate to have received comprehensive training by Fiona Soma of TRE® for Life. Her expert guidance has equipped me to confidently, skillfully and safely facilitate TRE® sessions in both individual and group settings.

Supporting Growth: My Commitment to Community
My dedication to mindfulness extends beyond individual practice. I believe in its power to empower and uplift, especially in communities facing challenges. Since 2021, I've actively contributed to The Earthchild Project NPC as a board member, offering my expertise in areas like people, process, and program-related matters.

The Earthchild Project is a multi-award-winning public benefit organisation focused on empowering children and teachers in underserved South African communities. Operating in eight primary schools in the townships of Khayelitsha and Lavender Hill, their impactful programs address crucial areas like environmental education, health awareness, life skills development, and leadership training.

Their efforts annually reach over 4,500 children and 150 teachers, equipping them with valuable tools to enhance well-being, build confidence, and foster resilience. The organisation's core mission is to cultivate a new generation that is not only self-aware but also driven by compassion for others and committed to environmental stewardship, ultimately paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable future.

My involvement with The Earthchild Project reflects my deep-seated belief in the transformative potential of mindfulness. By supporting their work, I hope to contribute to building a society where well-being and positive change flourish, starting with the seeds of empowerment sown in these young minds.
